In the true spirit of giving, the Rotary Club of Grenada and the Sandals Foundation have partnered to distribute 1,000 Christmas gifts to underprivileged children during the upcoming season of Christmas at the Point, Rotary’s beloved 26-night holiday festival at Quarantine Point Recreational Park.
This initiative brings together 2 trusted, community-focused institutions. The Sandals Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Sandals Resorts International, has long been a committed supporter of youth and community development across the Caribbean. The Rotary Club of Grenada is renowned for service above self, and this collaboration reflects both organisations’ vision to make the holidays brighter for children who need it most.
The gifts, generously provided by the Sandals Foundation, will be distributed intermittently throughout the Christmas season, creating joyful surprise moments for visiting families at Christmas at the Point. While specific giveaway nights will not be announced in advance, families are encouraged to enjoy the park’s festive offerings with the chance that one of these magical moments may happen during their visit.
“This partnership is rooted in service to community,” said Julia Lawrence, President of the Rotary Club of Grenada. “Last year, in the wake of Hurricane Beryl, we shifted our efforts to encourage patrons of Christmas at the Point to donate gifts for children in Carriacou and Petite Martinique, which we then delivered. This year, thanks to the Sandals Foundation, we’re honoured to again serve the children of Grenada in a joyful and generous way.”
The Sandals Foundation has supported Rotary initiatives for many years, including past editions of Christmas at the Point and other fundraising projects. This renewed partnership builds on a foundation of trust and parallel purpose.
DeLeon Forrester, Public Relations Manager at Sandals Grenada and spokesperson for the Sandals Foundation, added: “We believe every child deserves to feel seen, celebrated, and loved, especially at Christmas. Working with the Rotary Club allows us to connect directly with families in a way that is meaningful, respectful, and filled with joy. We are proud to be part of this great tradition.”
Christmas at the Point 2025 currently runs nightly on Wednesdays through Thursdays until Sunday, 4 January 2026, at Quarantine Point. The event features festive lights, nightly movies, food and drink vendors, artisan shopping, kids’ activities, and much more, all in support of Rotary’s community service work.

This year’s initiative also reflects a deeper connection between Rotary and Sandals’ regional bond in Jamaica. Sandals Resorts was founded in Jamaica and maintains its headquarters there, while the Rotary Club of Grenada has also expressed solidarity with Jamaica by planning a special telethon to raise funds for post-hurricane relief. This bond between Sandals’ homeland and the Rotary Club of Grenada further strengthens the unified effort behind this generous gift drive.
