The Government of Grenada is pleased to announce its participation in the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30), taking place from 10–21 November 2025, in Belém, Brazil.
Grenada’s delegation will be led by Dr Spencer Thomas, Special Envoy for Multilateral Agreements, and will include representatives from key ministries, agencies, and missions committed to advancing the nation’s climate resilience agenda.
At COP30, Grenada will continue to advocate for the priorities of Small Island Developing States (SIDS), emphasising the urgent need for climate finance, adaptation support, and the operationalisation of the Loss and Damage Fund. The delegation will also showcase Grenada’s progress in Renewable Energy Transition, Sargassum Valorisation, The Blue Economy, Ecosystem Restoration, and Resilient Infrastructure, all aligned with the country’s National Adaptation Plan (2025–2035) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
Hon. Kerryne James, Minister for Climate Resilience, the Environment and Renewable Energy, will participate virtually in several high-level events and bilateral meetings, advocating for stronger global partnerships and equitable access to climate finance for vulnerable nations.
Grenada’s delegation will also engage in thematic discussions on energy transition, youth and gender inclusion in climate action, blue economy initiatives, and integrating science and innovation into national climate policies.
Speaking ahead of the conference, Minister James stated: “COP30 marks a pivotal moment for global climate ambition. For Grenada, it is an opportunity to demonstrate leadership, share our progress, and press for the concrete actions and financing needed to safeguard our people, ecosystems, and future generations.”
