The Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC) is proud to announce that its annual Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Symposium will be hosted at the Radisson Grenada Beach Resort from 5–7 November 2025.
The annual symposium brings together safety professionals and disaster coordinators from electric utilities around the region to explore emerging risks shaping modern occupational health and safety practices, particularly in the energy sector.
This year’s theme, “The Changing Landscape of Occupational Health and Safety,” reflects the evolving realities of workplace safety and the urgent need for innovative strategies in a rapidly shifting global environment. Two major areas will take centre stage at this year’s event: Climate Change and Workforce Resilience, and Energy-Based Safety (EBS): A New Paradigm in Hazard Recognition. Attendees will examine the impacts of climate change on workforce productivity and well-being and discuss practical strategies for building climate-resilient safety systems. The area of EBS focuses on identifying and controlling high-energy hazards before they lead to serious incidents.
“This symposium continues to be one of CARILEC’s most impactful gatherings,” said CARILEC Executive Director Dr Cletus Bertin. “As the energy sector faces new and complex challenges — from climate change to digital transformation, this event empowers professionals to reimagine safety culture and protect the heart of every organisation: its people.”
The 2025 OHS Symposium will feature panel discussions and interactive workshops, offering participants a platform to share best practices and explore the latest advancements in occupational safety management.
