The Carriacou Historical Society and Museum is proud to announce the appointment of its new Board of Directors, marking a new chapter in the preservation of Carriacou’s cultural heritage.
The new board, which can be viewed at www.carriacoumuseum.gd/boardofdirectors, will oversee the museum’s rebuilding and expansion efforts following the devastation of Hurricane Beryl in July 2024. The following list names those serving on the board for 2025–2026.

- Maria Hamlett: Assistant Secretary
- Patricia John: Treasurer and Financial Strategy Unit Lead
- Benaiah Matheson: Director of Diaspora Engagement and Cultural Partnerships
- Majella Mark, MBA: Director of International Affairs and Special Projects and Project Development Unit Lead
- Ingrid Lewis, BSc: Director of Regional Affairs and Strategic Coordination
- Agnes McKenzie: Director of Museum and Collection Oversight
- Randy Cornelius: Director of Local Community Engagement
- Christopher Pierson: Director of National Relations and Heritage Advocacy
- Augustine Charles: Director of Operations and Site Management
- Patricia Hollingsworth: Superannuary Director
This leadership transition comes at a critical moment as the museum, an anchor of Carriacou’s cultural identity, embarks on recovery with the support of community members, volunteers, and the wider diaspora.
The museum has also launched new social media platforms on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and BlueSky to connect with local, regional, and international audiences, ensuring greater visibility for Carriacou’s cultural history.
“Our mission has always been to safeguard Carriacou’s artefacts and stories,” said Majella Mark. “With this new team, we are committed to preserving the island’s heritage while strengthening our global connections.”
