The Government of Grenada joins the nation in mourning the passing of Former Senator Neilon Franklyn, who served in the Upper House of Parliament following the 2022 General Elections. Senator Franklyn was appointed as one of the Opposition Senators and served with distinction until his resignation in late 2024.
Senator Franklyn’s journey from media to Parliament reflected his deep commitment to civic engagement and his belief in the power of youth leadership. His legacy will be remembered for his bold voice, his principled stance, and his unwavering dedication to Grenada.
A dedicated professional at the Customs and Excise Division within the Ministry of Finance, a passionate Youth Advocate, and committed parliamentarian, Franklyn brought energy, insight, and integrity to his public service. His contributions to national dialogue, especially on matters affecting young people and economic development, were marked by determination.
The condolence book is available for signing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Thursday, 18 September to Monday, 22 September, from 9 am to 3 pm. The funeral for Neilon Franklyn will be held on Tuesday, 23 September at noon at the Grenada National Cricket Stadium.
