As Flow Grenada proudly celebrates the 34th anniversary of its flagship scholarship programme this year, 6 new students were welcomed, joining a legacy of over 300 beneficiaries across Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique.

The scholarship programme, which began in 1991, is an investment in the nation’s youth and a collaborative effort between Flow Grenada and the Government of Grenada, through the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth & Sports, and the Ministry of Social & Community Development, Housing and Gender Affairs. It provides comprehensive support to students from Form 1 to Form 5, covering transportation, books, uniforms, school supplies, examination fees, and other school-related costs, a value of over EC$40,000 per year.

At this year’s ceremony, held on 9 September 2025 and themed: “Empowering Minds: Focusing on the empowerment and opportunities education provides,” Flow Grenada’s Country Manager Lincoln Baptiste underscored the company’s ongoing commitment to empowering young Grenadians through education: “This scholarship is more than financial support. It is a vote of confidence in your potential. Seize this opportunity and remain focused. Education is your passport to the future, and your minds, empowered with knowledge, will chart the course for Grenada’s growth and transformation,” Baptiste told recipients.

One of the programme’s shining examples is Takesha Williams, who was awarded an additional scholarship from Flow to pursue tertiary studies at TA Marryshow Community College (TAMCC). Williams graduated this year with an Associate’s Degree in Natural Sciences, earning honours with an impressive 3.89 GPA.

The attendees also heard from a former scholarship recipient, Hezekiah Matthew, Scholarship Graduate of 2007 and now educator at St John’s Christian Secondary School, who encouraged the awardees to maximise this opportunity and use it to propel them to the future they envision for themselves. He also shared his journey through life after receiving his scholarship in 2007.

Williams and Matthew’s achievements stand as a testament to the transformative power of education and Flow’s continued investment in academic excellence.

The Flow Scholarship Programme remains one of the company’s flagship community initiatives, exemplifying Flow’s mission to go beyond telecommunications by connecting communities, enabling progress, and investing in programmes that will shape the future of Grenada.

Flow congratulates the 6 new awardees of 2025 and extends best wishes to all its scholars as they continue their educational journeys.
