The Spicemas Corporation (SMC) launched carnival 2025 “The Best Mas by Far” on Friday, 2 May at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium carpark.

The event which was attended by hundreds of patrons, showcased every aspect of Spicemas, in a display of what is uniquely Grenadian: Jab, Shortknee, Vieux Corps, as well as sweet steelpan music and live band entertainment. The reigning carnival queen, Miss Carriacou and Petite Martinique Sashelle Alves, officially introduced the 7 parish delegates to the general public. The soca and calypso fraternity were well represented on stage and some fancy mas bands displayed their offerings for Spicemas 2025.

In addressing the crowd, Chairman of the Spicemas Corporation Kirt Ross committed to improving the synergy between the SMC and all major carnival players to ensure an unforgettable season.

Senator Quinc Briton declared the season open by sounding the conch shell and urged masqueraders to enjoy a peaceful carnival.

As we look towards what promises to be an exhilarating Spicemas 2025, we tilt our hats to the Government of Grenada, the National Lotteries Authority, sponsors and partners performers, the production team, Government Information Service, the SMC Board of Directors and staff, the Royal Grenada Police Force and stadium authority for the roles they played during the launch.

The Spicemas Corporation continues to work tirelessly to develop the Spicemas brand: “The Best Mas by Far.”

Time is overdue for implementing a “ National King Show” – in similar ways as the National queen show. This will positively impact a cultural balance, and motivate our young men to excel holistically.

The time to start is now!

We are the one group of people on the who is preoccupied with launching trivialities and non-sense.

We need to teach our kids that covering themselves with used automobile oil or costumes is not an accomplishment and that we cannot export sweat due to a lack of demand for sweat.
