A team of 10 national swimmers, their coach and 3 other officials will depart for Trinidad on Thursday, 17 April 2025, to participate in the 38th CARIFTA Aquatic Championships.

The team which comprises locally based swimmers, Kaleb Williams, Patrick Dowden, Jacob Collymore, Ethan Chu Fook, Jaaziel Francis, and Ethan Gunpot; and Zeia Ollivierre, Kristin Gresham, Angeliner-Glenes Jackson-Bain, will be accompanied by Coach Damique Walters, Ruth Collymore as Team Manager, and Nigel Gresham and Neil Francis as chaperones. The two other swimmers, Sara Dowden and Tilly Collymore, who are based in the US and England, respectively, will join their counterparts in Trinidad.

The Opening Ceremony for the Aquatic Championships will be on Friday, 18 April 2025, in collaboration with the Opening Ceremony for the Track and Field Championships at 3 pm, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Port of Spain. The swimming competitions begin on Saturday, 19 April at the Aquatic Centre in Couva, and run until 22 April, while the Open Water competition will be on 23 April.

The athletes have been training in anticipation of their competitions, and the prospects seem high for obtaining some finals, personal bests (PBs), and medals. Each swimmer is expected to compete in an average of 7 events, and Tilly Collymore and Jacob Collymore will also compete in the Open Water competition.

The Grenada Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) wishes the contingent a safe journey and a successful meet.
