POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Officer for our supermarket. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing imports, ensuring high quality, timely delivery, and competitive pricing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Source and negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, and favourable terms
- Coordinate effectively with vendors to purchase goods
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock of portfolio items
- Maintain effective relationships with suppliers and urgently resolve any issues that arise
- Stay updated with market trends and industry developments to optimise purchasing strategies.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer or similar role, preferably in the retail or supermarket industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective procurement strategies
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Professional Certification in supply chain or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred
