In a move to inspire our nation’s youth, the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Cabinet of Ministers, visited 77 primary schools across Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique on 3 February 2025 as part of Grenada’s 51st Independence Celebrations.
The ministers, who were accompanied by education officers from every district, distributed a special themed exercise book to each student featuring our 3 Olympic medallists on the cover, a design revealed during their homecoming ceremony last August.
The cover also depicts an inspirational message: “If you dream big, work hard, and stay focused, you can make that dream a reality.”
This initiative aims to celebrate our local sporting heroes while encouraging students to pursue excellence in academics and athletics. It aligns with Government’s ongoing efforts to promote education, sports, and national pride among Grenadian youth. It also serves as a tribute to the athletes who continue to make our nation proud.
During the distribution ceremony, Sen. the Hon. David Andrew emphasised the importance of recognising Grenada’s achievements, using these examples as a source of motivation for our students. “Our athletes have represented Grenada well, and they serve as role models for the next generation. By highlighting them and their achievements, we hope to instill a sense of national pride and determination in the young minds.”
The Government of Grenada is pleased to continue this initiative of school visits from the 50th anniversary of independence celebrations in February 2024 and wish all Grenada’s children a happy, memorable, and meaningful 51st independence celebration.
