The Department of Human Development, Education and Employment of the Executive Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI-DHDEE) in collaboration with the Government of Grenada, calls for applications for the following academic scholarship programmes for 2025:
- Graduate Studies
- Undergraduate Studies
Applicants are advised that scholarships for undergraduate studies are given ONLY for the last 2 years of a programme.
Scholarships are tenable at academic institutions of any participating OAS member state country. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply to institutions participating in the OAS Consortium of Universities.
- Selected candidates must already be enrolled in the programme of study or have an unconditional admission letter to the university to begin studies between 1 January and 31 December 2025
- To find out if you were pre-selected, please contact the ONE (this is the name of the OAS office in Grenada) in your country directly
- The OAS will publish the selection results of awardees on its website oas.org/en/scholarships, in September 2025
- Disbursement of funds for the first academic year shall take place during the last quarter of
Candidates MUST apply directly to the university for admission to his/her desired programmes of study.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants MUST:
- Be a citizen living in Grenada
- Be in good physical and mental health to complete the programme
- Possess the language competence to undertake the studies in the country of study
- Be enrolled as full-time students on the programme of study for which the scholarship is being applied
- Agree to return and reside in the sponsoring country for a minimum period of no less than 24 months after completing the programme of study covered by the OAS scholarship
- Agree to remain in the sponsoring country for the same time
- (For transfer students) Have admission letter to programme of study to begin in August and December 2025
VALUE OF THE AWARD
- Tuition and mandatory fees (maximum of US$10,000 per academic year per scholarship recipient for no more than 2 academic years)
- Health insurance
- Monthly complementary subsistence allowance
- Roundtrip air ticket
- Books/study materials
To apply for undergraduate scholarships: Applicants are to conduct studies in a university of their choice for the last 2 academic years of study leading to a bachelor’s degree.
To apply for an undergraduate scholarship, an applicant must:
- Provide certified copies of the associate degree diploma, if applicable. For those candidates already enrolled in the bachelor’s degree programme, a certified copy of the high school diploma
- Provide certified copies of the associate’s degree transcripts, if applicable. For those candidates already enrolled in the bachelor’s degree programme, the most recent progress report from the current programme of study
- Two (2) recommendation letters: Preferably from current or former professors using the OAS Recommendation Statement Form or previous employer using the Employer Recommendation Form. Recommendation letters from relatives will not be accepted
- If unemployed or never employed, include a letter from a professor or someone who can be considered providing a reference of your qualities as a student or professional (using the Recommendation Statement Form)
- Copy of the Official Identification Card (ID) — Government-issued ID by the sponsoring country or passport
- Curriculum Vitae (must not exceed 2 pages)
For transfer students: Admission letter to the programme of study to begin in August and December 2025.
HOW TO APPLY FOR A GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
Graduate Scholarships are offered to candidates to complete studies in a university of their choice for (Master’s or Doctoral degree)
- Scholarships are awarded for full-time studies at any university in an OAS Member State, including those participating in the OAS Consortium of Universities
- Scholarships are not awarded to study at universities in the applicant’s sponsoring country
- Study Modality: onsite, online, or a combination of both. Applications for scholarships for online studies shall be prioritised at the time of scholarships selection
- Scholarships are awarded for a minimum period of one (1) academic year and a maximum period of 2 academic years
- OAS Scholarship recipients must return and remain in the sponsoring country for a period of no less than 24 months after completing the programme of study. OAS Scholarship recipients pursuing online studies must agree to remain in the sponsoring country for the same period of time.
- OAS Scholarships awarded for graduate studies and or research should be framed within the objectives and priorities established in the Comprehensive Strategic Plan of the Organisation
- Studies in the Medical Sciences and the learning of new languages are excluded from the academic programme
- OAS staff members, OAS consultants, staff members of the Permanent Missions to the OAS, and their relatives are eligible to apply for an academic scholarship after 6 months from the termination of their employment relationship or contract

Applicants are required to submit ONE (1) copy of the following documents to the office of the Human Resource Development Division (Scholarship Desk), Ministry of Education:
- Completed online application form (to be obtained from the OAS website)
- Certified copy of ALL academic certificates and diplomas for the highest degree obtained
- Certified copy of transcript of grades for the highest academic degree completed and/or to be completed. If the applicant is currently enrolled in a programme of study, he/she will also need to submit the current unofficial transcript
- Proof of registration or unconditional admission letter to the program of study
- Two (2) recommendation letters from current or former professors, supervisors, business leaders, etc., stamped and/or signed. If unemployed or never employed, the candidate may obtain recommendations from whom they think can give academic, professional, or personal reference. Recommendation letters must be written and signed by the recommenders (No relatives of the applicant). Letters can be sent via email
- Curriculum Vitae (must not exceed 2 pages)
- Certified copy of the official identification card (ID): Government-issued ID and Passport bio-data page
- For undergraduate applicants only: Certified copy of academic transcript for the bachelor’s degree programme currently enrolled. Applicants who intend to transfer credits from previous studies to undertake only the last 2 academic years of a bachelor’s degree programme must submit copies of the diploma and transcripts for the associate degree previously obtained
