A high-level delegation of Grenadian creatives and cultural ambassadors will arrive in Cuba over the weekend of 8–9 February, at the invitation of the Embassy of Grenada in Cuba, to participate in activities to mark the 51st Anniversary of Grenada’s Independence.
The delegation includes Cultural Ambassadors:
- Edson Mitchell, King Ajamu: 9-times Calypso Monarch of Grenada
- Eldwyn McQuilkin, Black Wizard: Veteran Calypsonian, a 3-times Calypso Monarch and renowned international lyricist
- Randy Isaac, a former Soca and Groovy Monarch
- Jermaine “Super Star” Simon, winner of the 2025 Independence Monarch Song Competition
These performers will be joined by Indy Noel, a Grenadian fashion designer whose work will be featured during a fashion show at the event.
The creatives will be the highlight of the Independence Cocktail Reception and Cultural Extravaganza, which is carded for Wednesday, 12 February, at Hotel National, Havana, Cuba.
The visit is made possible with support and sponsorship from these Grenadian entities: National Lotteries Authority (NLA), the Grenville Credit Union and the National Celebrations Committee.
