Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Human Resources Director at the Grenada Airports Authority.

Job Summary

The Human Resources Director provides strategic, high-level analysis and support to the General Manager, the Management team and the Board of Directors of the Grenada Airports Authority (GAA) from a Human Resource perspective; directs and coordinates all Human Resource activities, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, training, professional development and succession planning, compensation policies, labour relations and performance management.

Ultimately, the Human Resource Director coordinates and evaluates the Human Resource function of the GAA; ensures compliance with labor requirements of the State of Grenada and GAA standard operating procedures and policies; and maintains a cadre of motivated, satisfied employees committed to achieving the objectives of the GAA.

Minimum acceptable Academic/Technical/Professional Qualifications 

  • A Master’s Degree in Human Resources or a related discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Specific Skills/Experience and/or Knowledge

  1. Extensive knowledge of the Grenada Labour Code and all other local/state employment and industrial relations laws and practices
  2. Excellent organisational skills
  3. Excellent management and leadership skills
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  5. Excellent presentation skills
  6. Experience at preparing reports

Minimum number of years of relevant experience

  • 5 years relevant experience, at least 3 years in a senior capacity

Responsibilities and Duties 

  1. Provides strategic, tactical and operational support to the Board, management and staff of the GAA
  2. Develop and monitor the strategic direction of the Human Resource Department
  3. Formulates and recommends Human Resources policies in accordance with employment legislation and human resource best practices
  4. Leads the recruitment and selection process and manages new employees’ orientation programmes
  5. Directs the performance management process and implements succession programmes
  6. Manages the compensation programme and employee benefits
  7. Manages employee training programmes
  8. Conducts Collective Bargaining Negotiations
  9. Participates in Conflict Resolution
  10. Provides Reports
  11. Manages the Human Resources department
  12. Other Duties
