GAA and Carifta LOC extend gratitude for successful games

The Grenada Athletic Association (GAA) and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2024 Carifta Games express heartfelt gratitude to the people of Grenada for their unwavering support during the recently concluded games.

The outpouring of national pride and enthusiasm witnessed throughout the event was truly inspiring, and it played a significant role in motivating our young athletes to achieve their best.

The federation expresses profound appreciation to the Government of Grenada for their support which enabled the GAA to bid for the games, along with the resurfacing of both the in stadium and warm up tracks and the financial assistance with accommodation of the athletes and team officials. Further, the GAA and the LOC extend sincere appreciation to the sponsors, whose contributions made it possible to host a successful and memorable event. The contribution of sponsors has assisted to elevate the profile of athletics in Grenada and will continue to inspire future generations of athletes.

Additionally, special acknowledgment to our esteemed committee chairpersons and members, technical officials, service ambassadors, and event support staff whose skillful and generous assistance ensured the success of the games. Their unwavering commitment to the development of athletics in Grenada is instrumental in nurturing the next generation of champions.

With immense pride, the GAA congratulates Team Grenada which cumulated an impressive haul of 13 medals at the games of which 7 were Silver, 5 Bronze and 1 Gold. The Athletic Association is incredibly proud of Team Grenada’s outstanding performance at the games. This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent of our athletes, as well as the unwavering assistance they received from their coaches, families, and the entire nation. From the track to the field, our athletes showcased their talent and determination, inspiring countless individuals across the nation.

As the GAA celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2024, we are filled with a deep sense of pride and gratitude for the support we have received from the Grenadian public over the years. The success of the 2024 Carifta Games is a demonstration of the strength and resilience of our community, we look forward to continuing to work together to promote the development of athletics in Grenada for many years to come. Once again, thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the 2024 Games. Your support has made a real difference in the lives of our young athletes, and we are confident that they will continue to represent Grenada with pride and distinction on the international stage.

Here’s to a century of excellence, and to the bright future that lies ahead for Grenadian athletics.
