The deadline for applying to become a Youth Ambassador is Friday, 8 March 2024.
The application period ends tonight at 11:59 p.m., and the Division of Youth is urging young people who want to represent Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique at the highest level to seize this opportunity.
For consideration, applicants must be ages 16 to 29.
The Youth Ambassador’s Programme provides a platform for young people to amplify their voices and become leaders to positively impact their peers on a local, regional, and international level.
Youth Coordinator Carlene Perryman said the Division is looking for youth who have a passion for youth advocacy and have a deep desire to make a difference in their communities on issues affecting young people.
“We want to empower our young people to be active and engaged citizens,” she said.
Some of the main responsibilities of the youth ambassadors would include:
- Advocating for youth-centred policies and initiatives
- Engaging with their community leaders and decision-makers to address concerns affecting young people
- Leading awareness campaigns on various important social issues affecting young people
- Coordinating with other ambassadors to create innovative solutions to address some of the issues they will be identifying
- To be role models or mentors to their peers in their communities
The selection of ambassadors will be done in 2 phases. Firstly, by an independent committee and by interview. Click on the link to apply: https://forms.gle/tMazcR1BeUpYj6Jp9.
