Sustainable Grenadines Inc. (SusGren), in collaboration with the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, along with the Petite Martinique Fishermen Cooperative, is proud to announce the successful establishment of the island’s first solar-powered ice facility.

Javan Williams, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, in giving remarks at a recent ceremony, highlighted the power of new ideas and collaborative efforts. He emphasised their crucial role in driving the sustainable development of the community.

He also mentioned the importance of embracing innovative solutions for the benefit of the people and the environment.

The solar-powered ice facility represents a critical milestone in addressing the needs of the local fishing community, providing them with a reliable and environmentally friendly solution.

As the first of its kind on Petite Martinique, the facility not only enhances the island’s infrastructure but also serves as a model for sustainable development in the wider region.
