During his visit to the UK, Prime Minister Honourable Dickon Mitchell had the privilege of meeting with Sir Lindsay Hoyle, the Speaker of the House of Commons.
This significant meeting covered a range of topics, with a primary focus on bolstering UK support for Caribbean territories. The Prime Minister conveyed his appreciation for the UK Parliamentarians who had previously visited Grenada, contributing their expertise in parliamentary training, which is instrumental in providing further support.
The Speaker invited Prime Minister Mitchell to plant a remembrance tribute at the Constituency Garden of Remembrance and also invited him to the Opening of Parliament which is scheduled for Tuesday, 7 November from 10 am – 12 noon. Prime Minister Mitchell and High Commissioner are set to attend this official ceremony.
This fruitful meeting brought together the Grenadian delegation, the Speaker, and British High Commissioner Scott Furssedon, marking a notable step towards strengthened cooperation and support between the UK and Grenada.
