The Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GCIC) had a fruitful meeting with the first South Korean Trade delegation led by Christopher Koo, Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association on 27 February 2023.
The Chamber was represented by President Kennie John, Senator Salim Rahaman along with Executive Director Petipha Lewis and other members of the private sector. Permanent Secretary Patricia Clarke and officials from the Ministry of Trade were specially invited by the Chamber to be a part of the discussions. A 15-member Korean delegation including representatives from the Korean Embassy, Office of the President of the Republic of Korea, and Korean business representatives made up the Korean delegation.
At this meeting, the Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This MOU is to promote a stronger relationship between the Grenadian and Korean business communities for mutual benefit and to strengthen trade and economic cooperation between the parties in specific business areas.
