Footballers from Bishop’s College and Hillsborough Secondary School that are part of the Carriacou Combined Football Team are now fully uniformed.
The players of the 2 secondary schools received football uniforms and an assortment of other sporting equipment from returning national Paula Quamina.
Quamina, who resides in Trinidad, is now back on the island and presented the Senior Coach within the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs & Local Government, Sebastian Stiell, with the uniform and equipment.
Stiell, in accepting the donation, noted that the Division of Sports always welcomes such partnerships to take sports to another level. The donation, he said, will boost the spirit of the young football players.
The Grenada Sports and Well Being Organisation, represented by Trevor McIntosh, was also a beneficiary of Quamina’s donation of a set of cricket gear.
Quamina, who is an ardent sports fan, said that she is happy to make a contribution towards sporting development on the 13-square-mile island, and promised that she will be bringing two) under-13 football teams from Trinidad to Carriacou next year.
