The ‘Climate-Resilient Agriculture for Integrated Landscape Management in Grenada’ (CRA) Project is launching its second call for applications under its Digital Challenge.

This Digital Challenge, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and implemented by the Government of Grenada in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, is seeking to support small businesses in the agro-processing and agrotourism sectors to leverage the power of data and digital technologies to develop their business practices and to contribute to climate-smart agriculture.

The Digital Challenge offers up to US$10,000 in grant funding for agro-processors and agrotourism businesses to develop and implement innovative solutions that will digitally transform their businesses, and in turn, the agricultural sector. Digital solutions can enhance the dissemination of information and help track the supply chain to improve profitability and reduce food waste. Agro-processing businesses can use digital apps to directly manage supply, coordinate deliveries, and make payments to smallholder farmers. Digital marketing and mobile apps can help inspire tourists and customers to discover Grenada’s ecotourism establishments, to make bookings and payments online.

In addition to the grant funding, applicants will also receive capacity-building support to fully flesh out project proposals which will then be reviewed for approval.

Climate-Resilient Agriculture for Integrated Landscape Management in Grenada (CRA) Project

The challenge was designed to integrate digital innovation into the grant-making mechanism under Output 3.4. of the Climate Resilient Agriculture for Integrated Landscape Management (CRA) Project.

With this initiative, it is the aim of the CRA Project to support small businesses for agro-processing and agrotourism, processing climate-smart agriculture (CSA) crops and to support sustainable rural livelihoods and education on CSA and sustainable land management (SLM) initiatives, including women, men and youth.
