If Grenada’s GNP is 58.8% based on tourism, you would think there would be more emphasis on getting their citizens fully vaccinated.
Grenada’s death rate from Covid now stands at 3% of total cases. This is 50% higher than the worldwide average of 2% & reflects the low level of vaccinations in this country. 95% of our Covid deaths are unvaccinated.
It pain me when I see that death number every day. Putting hopes on 26,830 fully vaccinated + 5,078 recovered. And 9,264 partially vaccinated. Grenada we on our way. Let us keep going an build a barrier against a 2nd wave.
No. Deaths do NOT reflect the low level of vaccinations because:
1. There are countries with low levels of vaccinations AND very low DEATHS (India) and
2. There are countries with very high levels of vaccinations And continuing deaths (Israel, the UK, Canada, the USA etc.)
Its still amazing how people make these clichéd statements about automatic linkages between deaths and vaccinations without first checking the FACTS to see if those assumptions are actually correct. In summary, people who don’t bother to substantiate their statements with supporting evidence first.
Rate of vaccinations seem to be dropping from a high of 637 earlier in the week down to 401 yesterday. I hope this is not the start of a trend otherwise cases will soon be going back up.
