Anansi is a mythological character just like the fairy-tale stories that it makes up about Grenada’s recent covid experience.
The happenings of the last 3 months we knew were coming sometime but the People of Grenada, the Frontline Staff and the Government have handled it admirably, as they have done throughout the whole pandemic.

Soon to hit 200 deaths in less than three months. In any other country (other Caribbean countries excepted) both the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health would have had the good grace to resign. But that is not going to happen here, is it? Instead, they cast blame on Jab Jab when the truth is that the Delta Variant was brought into Grenada by five fully vaccinated visitors because the Government made a deliberate decision to open up our airport at a time when the Delta variant was raging across the globe!

So what in God’s name made this in-the-know Government think that lax border control protocols could beat the virus? Maybe it’s because Minister Steele adopted a position that “closing our borders is not an option”?

The fiasco that followed has 1) resulted in the deaths of close to 200 persons; 2) crippled small businesses – with many of them now on the verge of bankruptcy; 3) resulted in highly discriminatory apartheid-like practices deliberating favoring large businesses and hurting smaller ones and 4) killed the prospects of cruise ship tourism for this winter season.

And these are the people that we appoint to represent us and to manage the affairs of this country competently? Unthinkable!!!

Anansi starts by blaming 5 fully vaccinated tourists for the outbreak, ends by complaining that cruiseships full of tourists won’t be arriving this winter. Anansi is probably related to Donald Trump.

Yes, she is a prominent anti vaxxer on these pages. She is definitely a few cents short of a dollar.
