On Thursday, 23 September at 10 am, the US Embassy to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean and the OECS will host a Facebook Live discussion with the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Caribbean Regional Office Director Dr Varough Deyde.

The session will allow the public to ask their questions about vaccines in real-time. The event will also be streamed on the social media platforms of several partner organisations such as UNICEF and the Barbados’ Ministry of Health and Wellness. US Ambassador to Barbados, Linda S Taglialatela will offer welcome remarks and US Embassy Health Unit Nurse Aizza Jones will moderate the session.

The Embassy invites the public to visit our Facebook page at 10 am on 23 September at: https://www.facebook.com/USEmbassyBarbados/ to join us for this informative question and answer session.

Facebook and the spread of medical information is a BAD idea ! go and speak to your doctor- and listen to trained people not skeptical people who tell you about religious protection from this viral disaster . God will help you IF you get vaccinated , social media will confuse you as they add on non medical opinions … This is a medical problem .. deal with it medically!!!

Not being personal, but what does the term “typical antivaxxer” mean? From where I sit I see many people being labeled as “antivaxxer” with absolutely no proof being put forward by the claimant that the person who may have objections to vaccines (for personal, religious or other reasons) is automatically an “antivaxxer”. Also, a linkage is made that these so-called “antivaxxers” are uneducated. I admit. I just don’t understand 1) the basis of such labels and 2) how such negativity is supposed to help in our fight against COVID 19.

Vaccinations, vaccinations, vaccinations is all we hear and that is drowning out our ability to think critically, but I have questions. Why are vaccines being pushed for the young and healthy when the virus, unfortunately and sadly, assails the elderly and infirm? Why are woman’s menstrual cycles changing? My daughter’s friend in LA lost her period entirely after being vaccinated. I am not an anti-vaxer, I believe that well tested (particularly for long term side effects) vaccines have rightful and proper places in modern day society. I question the BIG push and the lack of information on the numerous side-effects that have maimed, injured and killed healthy people who have taken
this VERY NEW vaccine. We should all put on our critical thinking caps and hopefully see beyond the smoke screen that is clouding our common sense.

If you’re genuinely looking for answers, better to talk to local health professionals or take part in virtual discussions like the one offered in this article, with people who you can confirm have an extensive health background. When your health is at stake, not a good idea to get answers from a bunch of unknown people in a comment section.

Another “come to Jesus” session no doubt. Good luck to the “attendees”. The CDC has made some errors in judgement (mask, no mask and then mask again). And they are well-aligned with conventional “establishment” thinking. But they have, very cautiously, produced contrarian evidence when such information was mostly being aready generated in the public domain. Enjoy.

Typical antivaxxer, won’t listen but expects people to listen to them. If they aren’t educated why bother making it obvious?
