VACANCY NOTICE
Post: Lab Technician
Department: Quality Assurance
Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager
Responsibilities
- Performing laboratory tests on bottled water and beverages in order to produce reliable and precise data
- Carrying out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out analyses
- Ensuring the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced
- Recording and sometimes interpreting results to present to senior colleagues
- Conducting searches on identified topics relevant to the analysis
- Following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks
- Flexibility in order to work with and provide support for a number of people
- Excellent oral communication skills in order to work effectively with colleagues from all parts of the organisation and to explain complex techniques to interested parties
- Teamwork skills and patience
- Attention to detail
- Excellent record-keeping skills are required, along with basic maths and computing
Requirements
- Background in science discipline such as Chemistry and/or Biology
- Mathematical aptitude and analytical skills
- Computer literacy with Windows, Microsoft Office applications and other lab software
- Must have the ability to read, write and speak in one-on-one and group settings to communicate complex topics, information and specifications related to food manufacturing, food quality and food regulations
