Today Thursday 20 April, 2017, from 5.30pm – 7.30pm, Professor Stephen E Hanson will give a public lecture at The UWI themed: “The Novelty of Putin’s Patrimonialism: Analysing Russian Regime Change.” This is at the invitation of Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles, Vice Provost for International Affairs and Director of the Reves Center for International Studies at College of William & Mary.
The lecture takes place at the University’s Regional Headquarters in Jamaica, and will be chaired by UWI Pro Vice-Chancellor of Global Affairs, Ambassador Dr Richard Bernal.
The lecture is one of a series of public discussions by Vice-Chancellor Beckles, which seek to offer informed analysis, perspective and context to important political, social and economic developments in the Caribbean region and wider world.
The public lecture on US-Russia Relations is timely, as the world looks on at the recent trajectory of bilateral relations between the two superpowers, following a multi-faceted relationship for over 200 years.
