Job Title: Accounting Officer

Level: Professional

Reports to: Manager – Administration Division

Job Summary: The primary responsibility of the Accounting Officer is to assist with the financial, accounting and budgetary functions of the ECSE and its subsidiaries, the ECCSD and ECCSR.

Responsibilities:

The basic responsibilities of this position are to:

1. Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards;
2. Reconcile bank statements;
3. Maintain accounting schedules and Fixed Asset Register;
4. Assist with the preparation of monthly payroll;
5. Prepare, update and analyse  key control accounts;
6. Maintain petty cash;
7. Prepare payment requisitions and instructions;
8. Assist in the preparation of financial budgets;
9. Carry out other duties, as directed by the General Manager.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or ACCA/CPA/CA, with a good academic record;
2. A minimum of 3 years accounting experience, preferably within a financial institution;
3. A sound knowledge of international accounting principles and standards;
4. Experience in accounting software, particularly Sage50;
5. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products

1. Detail-oriented, efficient, energetic, willing to assist in other areas and flexible to work beyond normal working business hours, if necessary;
2. Strong analytical, organisational and prioritization skills;
3. Self-motivated, with ability to work on own initiative while being a good team player;
4. Exhibition of a high level of maturity;
5. Excellent interpersonal skills.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
