On behalf of the Government and People of Grenada, Prime Minister Dr the Right Hon. Keith Mitchell congratulates Mr Damion Daniel and Mr Hafid Tyrone James for outstanding performances at the just completed 44th Central American and Caribbean Bodybuilding Championships in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Daniel is the new Heavyweight Bodybuilding Champion in the entire CAC region, while James secured second spot in the Men’s Physique Class in the high-profile tournament which ran from 29 September to 2 October.

According to the Prime Minister, Daniel and James are young men who exemplify diligence, determination and commitment to their craft, and they are testaments to the results.

Dr Mitchell also extends high commendations to the dedicated coaching and management staff, including Mr Cecil Mitchell and IFBB pro Mr Carmichael Bryan, for their vision and passion in ensuring the readiness of these young men to be able to compete regionally and globally.

Daniel, a security officer of the Prime Minister and a corporal in the Royal Grenada Police Force, has once again made Grenada a very proud nation in the Bodybuilding world, having previously won several regional titles.

Prime Minister Mitchell has applauded Daniel for maintaining a persistent work ethic that has landed him with this prestigious CAC title, which comes on the heels of  a major regional sweep in which he won the Sports World Fitness Classic in Trinidad, the Darcy Beckles Invitational Classic in Barbados and Antigua’s Wesley Barrow Invitational Classic.

The Grenadian leader who also trains in the gym regularly has also showered praise on James for grabbing silver, six months after winning the Men’s Physique division at the annual Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus Ohio.

Bodybuilding continues to be a sport on the rise here in Grenada and our athletes are making their mark.
