The Grenada National Council for the Disabled has been in celebration mode, as the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination results were released. This, as one of its members received 8 passes.

Coordinator of the Grenada National Council for the Disabled, Hillary Gabriel was beaming with joy, as she spoke about the student’s performance in the exams.

Zinzee Noel, who graduated this year from the Mac Donald College, received eight passes out of ten attempted subjects.

Mrs Gabriel says this is not just an achievement for Zinzee and her family, but also for the community of persons with disabilities.

We also had the privilege of speaking with Zinzee herself, who also expressed her happiness for having done so well, despite her many challenges. Zinzee has an encouragement for other young people with similar disabilities.

Her father, Victor Phillip says although she could’ve done better, the family is very pleased with her achievement.

Zinzee’s passes are: English A, English B, Social Studies, Principles of Business, Economics, Caribbean History, Biology, and Information Technology.

This year, she will be attending the T A Marryshow Community College majoring in Psychology, as she says this will enable her to pursue a career where she will be able to help others.
