Prime Minister Dr the Rt Hon. Keith Mitchell, along with over 170 nation leaders, signed the Paris Agreement today. The decision for this agreement was made in December 2015, and today being World Earth Day, was selected to be the date for the signing.
195 nations came together in Paris under the United Nations Framework on Climate Change. On Saturday, 12 December 2015, a unanimous decision was made for a low-carbon future and maintain the global temperature to under 2° Celsius.
This signature Ceremony today was held at the UN headquarters in New York, co-chaired by Hon. Keith Mitchell and Canada’s Prime Minister, Hon Justin Trudeau.
