Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell welcomed Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the region earlier today, expressing his hope that this will be the start of a fruitful relationship between the region and Saudi Arabia.
In expressing his concern over the existing unstable situation in the Middle East, Prime Minister Mitchell implored to the Ambassador the need for Saudi Arabia to continue “to play an important role in the development of the Middle East region, because what happens over there affects us everywhere.”
His Excellency Abdollah Y. Al-Moullimi expressed his nation’s desire to improve its presence in, and relationship with the countries of the Caribbean region.
In responding to Prime Minister Mitchell’s concern about the Middle East crisis and what that could mean for energy costs around the world, the Ambassador stressed that the primary objective of his country right now is to restore stability to oil markets by countering the fears and suspicions of other nations.
