Representatives from educational and civic organisations recently received much-needed support for their various events and endeavours.

The bodies all received financial support from CIBC FirstCaribbean whose Country Head, Nigel Ollivierre, praised their determination and creativity in finding ways to still reach out to the community.

Two organisations, T A Marryshow Community College (TAMCC) and Soroptimists of Grenada, will both use virtual platforms to ensure that their annual events are not displaced by the fallout from Covid-19. The TAMCC Student Graduation Ceremony at which outstanding student performances will also be rewarded, will take place online in December 2020.

After their event was cancelled in March this year, the Soroptimists continued to press forward with their followup to their event ‘Cocoa Tea Talk.’ The event was used to promote awareness of the rising tide of domestic violence against women and children particularly in ‘middle class’ Grenada.
