In 1978, a mere 10 years following the establishment of Rotaract, our very own local Grenadian Club was formed. Thanks to many selfless young people who believed in ‘Service Above Self,’ 40 years later, the club is still active and impacting lives in the Grenadian Society.

The Rotaract Club of Grenada is a service group of young professionals between the ages of 18 and 30. The club’s primary mandates are to serve the community and to facilitate the professional development of its members. This is done through the regular execution of projects to assist disadvantaged communities throughout the nation and also through the completion of relevant activities aimed at members’ self-development.

To mark this milestone, the club worshipped at the St George’s Evangelical Church on Sunday, 14 January to commence the week of celebrations. This was followed by various media appearances to increase public awareness of the club, its mandate and operations and also to attract young professionals to start the Rotaract journey. The rest of the week also included, fellowship through a social activity at Lavo Lanes mid-week.

Every Rotaract celebration is marked by a community service project and this year the group provided a face lift to the Blessed Sacrament RC School, by repainting the water area for use by the students and staff of the institution. This was one of 2 activities completed through partnership with the institution, which also benefitted from a kitchen garden which was also completed by the Rotaract Club of Grenada.

Charter Week 2018 was brought to an end with the staging of the club’s Charter Dinner, Second Quarter Awards and Pinning Ceremony at the True Blue Bay Dodgy Dock Restaurant. On Sunday, 21 January Charter Day, successes were celebrated, outstanding members were awarded and 2 prospective members were pinned to embark on their journey of being a Rotaractor, serving the community.

We use this opportunity and say thank you to all our partners over the years and look forward to grow from strength to strength serving people.
