Sandals LaSource Grenada has once again opened its doors to young Grenadians desirable of entering the island’s fast growing Tourism and Hospitality field, with its Hospitality Training Programme (HTP).
The initiative looks to recruit, train and certify unskilled individuals between the ages of 18 to 30 years old.
Now in its 10th year, the programme has graduates thousands in people across the Caribbean. In Grenada, more than 60 individuals have so far benefitted.
The programme, which runs for 10 weeks, is geared at providing technical and soft skills training in various areas of hotel operations.
Training and Development Manager for Sandals LaSource Grenada, Sheena Williams, said, “The programme is designed to give nationals an opportunity to build the requisite skill sets needed for the Hospitality Industry.”
She added that a Certified Sandals HTP Graduate is guaranteed to have surpassed the basic standards required by the industry the world over. Such a person would be ready to climb the ladder of a successful hospitality professional.
“We are at that point again where we would like to make this opportunity available for young people to take advantage of. With that we are inviting applications for the Hospitality Training programme at Sandals La Source Grenada,” Williams said.
The next group of trainees is expected to start their exciting journey as early as 4 April 2016.

The Hospitality Training Programme was initially launched in 2006. Today it has evolved into one of the most sought after programmes in the industry for young professionals across the Caribbean with the desire to build a career in the hospitality industry.
It also comes as part of the Sandals’ commitment to empowering the Caribbean workforce and helping to build an industry second to none in the world. Upon completion, trainees may receive an opportunity to be employed with the Luxury Six Star Diamond Resort.
