The Grenada Transport Commission (GTC), through the support of the Government of Grenada, is pleased to announce that a total of EC$1,700,022.52 has been invested in the public transportation sector through the Fuel Tax Rebate Programme and the Western Bus Passenger Relief Initiative during the period 2025 to 2026.
Under the Fuel Rebate Programme, registered members of the National Bus Association (NBA) received financial assistance totaling EC$1,449,037.52, comprising EC$688,614.73 in 2025 and EC$760,422.79 in 2026.
Additionally, under the Western Bus Passenger Relief Initiative, a total of EC$250,985.00 was provided to support operators serving commuters along the western corridor, with EC$172,050.00 disbursed in 2025 and EC$78,935.00 in 2026.
The Grenada Transport Commission is also pleased to announce that it is currently in the final preparatory stages for the implementation of the Government’s 50% Duty Free Concessions Programme on essential parts and tyres for registered bus owners and operators.
This landmark initiative is designed to further reduce the financial burden associated with vehicle maintenance and repairs by providing significant savings on critical components required for the safe and efficient operation of public transport vehicles.
