The Grenada Meteorological Service is currently monitoring a plume of Saharan Dust
Synopsis: A moderate to dense plume of Saharan dust has made its way across the Atlantic, carried by winds from the Saharan Desert in North Africa and will continue to affect the Eastern Caribbean Islands including Grenada. Air quality is anticipated to be moderate today and continuing up to 28 May. This advisory will remain in effect from today through Thursday, 28 May.
Forecast for the State of Grenada: Satellite imagery and model data indicate that Saharan dust will continue to affect Grenada today through Thursday, 28 May 2026.
The Met Office will continue to closely monitor the progress of the dust plume.
