The Grenada Football Association (GFA) has marked another important moment in its international engagement efforts with the participation of President Marlon Glean as a speaker at Soccerex Europe 2026, one of the football industry’s leading global business and strategy forums, held at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam from 11–13 May 2026.

Soccerex describes the event as a premier gathering for football’s commercial and strategic community, bringing together senior leaders across clubs, federations, brands, media and investment.

President Glean’s appearance came just days after he was re-elected to serve a second term at the helm of the GFA, reinforcing both the continuity of the association’s leadership and its commitment to ensuring that Grenada remains visible in important international football conversations. In its public announcement on 9 May 2026, the GFA said Glean had been re-elected as president during the association’s Extraordinary Congress, giving renewed mandate to the administration’s development agenda.

At Soccerex Europe, President Glean was featured on the panel discussion titled “Football Without Borders: Expanding into New Markets,” alongside other football industry voices, with the official Soccerex agenda describing the session as an exploration of how football’s future growth lies beyond traditional strongholds. The discussion focused on market entry strategies, cultural considerations, grassroots development, and commercial opportunities in emerging football regions. For Grenada, the platform offered an important opportunity to contribute to a global conversation on how underrepresented and developing football markets can create value and attract meaningful partnerships.

President Glean’s participation also allowed Grenada to advance a clear strategic message that the country is an emerging football market with untapped potential for investment in local clubs and players, as well as opportunities related to training camps, international friendlies, and broader football business engagement involving European stakeholders. Positioned within a panel on new markets, Grenada’s inclusion signalled that small football nations are increasingly being recognised not only for their participation on the field, but also for their relevance in shaping conversations around the sport’s future growth and expansion.

Soccerex Europe marks President Glean’s second appearance on the Soccerex platform, with his first being Soccerex’s Miami in 2025, where the agenda also listed him as a speaker on a panel examining player development and cross-border talent pathways. That continuity reflects a growing international recognition of Grenada’s football leadership and supports the view that the GFA is steadily building credibility within global football business and development spaces.

“It is an honour to represent Grenada once again at a major international football forum, particularly so soon after being entrusted with a second term to lead the Grenada Football Association. Our participation at Soccerex Europe reflects the direction we are taking as an organisation, one that is focused not only on football development at home, but also on ensuring that Grenada is present in the conversations that shape the future of the global game. We believe Grenada has real potential as an emerging football market, whether through investment in local talent, support for club development, or opportunities involving training camps and international partnerships, and it was important for that perspective to be represented on this stage,” Glean shared. As Glean’s administration begins its second term of leadership, participation at Soccerex Europe 2026 stands as a timely reminder that football development is not driven by domestic action alone, but also by how effectively associations engage beyond their borders. For Grenada, this moment represents more than conference participation; it reflects a growing confidence, relevance and ambition on the global football stage.
