The Grenada Senior Men’s National Team (SMNT) capped off its 2025 international calendar in commanding fashion, defeating the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) 4–1 in front of a home crowd at the Kirani James Athletics Stadium last Friday night.

The win marks Grenada’s 6th consecutive international victory, extending the team’s unbeaten run. Grenada had previously moved 9 places up the FIFA World Rankings, from 174 to 165, following its performances during the October international window, and this most recent result positions the team favourably for further potential ranking improvement.

Grenada asserted its dominance early in the match. Parish Muirhead opened the scoring in the 11th minute, setting the tone for what would become another high-energy performance from Team Grenada. Regan Charles-Cook, team captain, followed with a clinical brace in the 27th and 34th minutes, showcasing his attacking prowess and giving Grenada a comfortable 3–0 lead heading into the break.

Shortly after halftime, Zade Douglas added to the tally in the 56th minute with a composed finish. USVI managed to pull one back in the 74th minute through Yannick Libra, but the Grenadian side remained firmly in control until the final whistle.

GFA President Marlon Glean expressed his satisfaction with the outcome and progress of the senior men’s programme: “This victory is more than just another win; it reflects the strategic investments we have made in technical development, international exposure, and youth integration. Rising in the FIFA rankings is a testament to the hard work of our players, staff, and the broader football community. We remain committed to elevating Grenadian football on the global stage.”

The GFA views this series of victories as critical momentum toward its long-term goals of holistic national team development, increased international competitiveness, and meaningful player pathways, anchored by robust domestic programs and international partnerships.

The association extends its heartfelt thanks to the fans, partners, and sponsors who showed unwavering support throughout the year.
