The Grenada National Swim Team has regained the OECS Swimming Championship from reigning title holder Antigua & Barbuda.

This win is significant as it is the team’s first title since 2019, after which there was two years break in competition during the Covid period. The swimming championships competition held at the Shrewsbury Aquatic Centre in St Vincent this past weekend, 7–9 November, ended with Team Grenada taking home 84 medals while amassing a total of 1,263.50 points over second place St Lucia with 1,239 points, followed by Antigua & Barbuda 1,117, St Kitts & Nevis 160, Dominica 72 and Anguilla 8 points. In addition to the championship title, Grenada captured 5 overall age group winners.

Capturing the age group championships were (8 and under girls) Brianne De Roche, (9 to 10 boys) Mateo Thomas, (13 to 14 girls), Kristin Gresham, (13 to 14 boys), Jacob Collymore, and (18 and over males), Zackary Gresham. The team also captured 3 overall third positions by (8 and under girls), Sydney Joseph, (11 to 12 boys), Ethan Chu Fook and (18 and over females), Anaika Otway.

The majority of the team returned to Grenada on Sunday evening following an afternoon of much jubilation, excitement, and strong support from parents and well-wishers, who gathered to witness the very commendable performances by every swimmer on the team.

The Grenada Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) is extremely proud of its swimmers and commends them for their hard work and excellent performances. The association extends its appreciation to the Government of Grenada for its ongoing support of the team’s participation in the championship. Additional support was also facilitated by corporate partners that include the Investment Migration Agency, Go Mobility, Pure Sports Grenada, and Geo F Huggins. Special thanks to all the parents and other well-wishers for their much-needed support and dedication, which have greatly contributed to the team’s success.
