Prime Minister Honourable Dickon Mitchell is leading Grenada’s delegation to the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80), currently underway in New York.
The Prime Minister’s participation underscores Grenada’s commitment to multilateralism and its active engagement in global dialogue on critical issues such as climate justice, meeting on non-communicable diseases and mental health, sustainable development and international cooperation. Grenada’s presence at UNGA 80 reflects its ongoing commitment to shaping a more equitable and sustainable global future, while amplifying the voices of Caribbean nations on the world stage.
Prime Minister Mitchell is expected to deliver Grenada’s national statement on Saturday, 27 September at the UN Headquarters under the theme “Better Together: 80 Years and More for Peace, Development and Human Rights” — highlighting the unique vulnerabilities and contributions of Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the global arena.
The Grenada delegation includes Minister for Foreign Affairs Honourable Joseph Andall and Permanent Secretary Roxie McLeish-Hutchinson, who are participating in high-level meetings including the OECS Council of Ministers, and other senior officials engaged in bilateral and multilateral discussions.
Hon. Lennox Andrews will act as Prime Minister in the absence of Honourable Dickon Mitchell until he returns to the state on Sunday, 28 September 2025.
