We are seeking a suitably qualified professional to fill the role of Accountant.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Accountant shall provide accurate reporting from a financial and cost perspective to assist in decision-making as well as assist in the day-to-day operations of the company.

Duties include but are not limited to: –

  1. Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as inventory purchases and overheads
  2. Manage cash flows of company, ensuring company manages payments to suppliers and receipts from customers
  3. Assist in internal control compliance and provide training as required in internal control procedures
  4. Analysing changes in services provided to determine effects on cost inclusive of all overheads spent against budgets and prior year spending
  5. Analysing actual landed costs, preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual
  6. Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services
  7. Manage annual external audit
  8. Prepare/Assist in month-end close of the General Ledger and reporting
  9. Prepare/assist in annual budget planning as well as forecasting for all elements of the company

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Completion/In Progress ACCA/CGA qualification or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 solid years experience in Accounting/Cost Accounting environment
  • Must have a strong systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles
  • Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Knowledge of bottling plant production
  • Computer Literate — Strong Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word
  • Good understanding of the production process in a manufacturing environment
  • Operational understanding of ISO Standards and application of a management system to achieve business results
  • Knowledge of IMS policies and procedures relevant to the job description
