Due to prolonged, heavy rainfall experienced during the day on Tuesday, 12 November 2024, several incidents of flooding, landslides and obstruction to roadways were reported in many areas throughout the country.
NaDMA advises that the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) have responded to these incidents. Teams are out clearing roads, removing debris, and taking whatever actions are necessary to return to normalcy.
NaDMA advises the general public as follows –
- Adhere to traffic directives issued by the RGPF
- Expect delays in traffic due to road obstructions and work crew operating in affected areas
- Avoid flooded areas and use alternative routes as directed by the RGPF
- Pay attention to advisories from the Meteorological Office
- Avoid taking unnecessary risks especially in flooded areas
- Refrain from sightseeing
The Meteorological Office has advised that the weather should improve as the evening progresses.
