Newly appointed General Secretary of the Grenada Football Association (GFA) Ambrose Phillip, has pledged to do all he can to change the perception of the GFA in the eyes of the public.
Phillip was presented to Council at an Extra Ordinary General Council Meeting at the National Stadium on Saturday 20 September. Addressing the meeting, he first spoke to changes in football from when he served as the first general secretary of the association from 1982-1992, noting that service to football then was based heavily on volunteers.
“I can assist you in the changes that the GFA needs, by bringing professionalism, transparency, integrity and accountability to the operations of the association,” Phillip said. He officially began serving in the General Secretary capacity as of 22 September .
As the GFA celebrates its 90th anniversary as an association, Phillip has already set his eyes on plans for the centennial anniversary, noting that “100 years will be a huge milestone for the GFA and that as an association we need to set realistic targets.”
