WiPay, the Caribbean’s leading digital payment solutions provider, is pleased to announce its renewed commitment to the Government of Grenada with the confirmation of an additional 3-year contract.

This partnership marks the continuation of WiPay’s successful collaboration with successive administrations to enhance financial inclusion and streamline government payments through innovative digital solutions.

On 7 August, the WiPay team engaged in a training exercise for government staff on the implementation of WiPay’s smart terminals in the field. These terminals will be a crucial part of the government’s Back-to-School grant redemption programme, ensuring that funds are distributed efficiently and securely. This marks the third consecutive year that WiPay has provided this service, underscoring the trust and confidence the Government of Grenada places in WiPay’s technology.

Aldwyn Wayne, CEO of WiPay stated, “Our renewed contract with the Government of Grenada is a testament to our dedication to providing cutting-edge digital payment solutions. We are committed to ensuring that funds reach those in need quickly and securely, enhancing the efficiency of government programmes and contributing to financial inclusion.”

Minister of Education Hon. David Andrews commented, “We are very happy we are able to move away from paper-based vouchers and capitalise on technology. The WiPay platform allows us to support parents and students more efficiently. We have engaged WiPay directly, and their team will be in Grenada to train local vendors on using the new machines, ensuring that payments to beneficiaries can commence promptly.”

WiPay’s GOVPAY Digital Payment Management System will facilitate seamless payouts for various government initiatives, including the Uniform Grant, Book Grant and Back-to-School programmes. This system allows for the instant issuance of grants, eliminating the need for physical checks and reducing costs and pilferage.

WiPay is no stranger to grant solutions. WiPay has worked with multi-national aid agencies such as the World Food Programme (WFP) and has further assisted several Caribbean government agencies in implementing similar solutions, including the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS) in Jamaica and Planting Seeds in Trinidad.

WiPay’s Business-to-Government solutions provide significant value by streamlining payment processes. WiPay works with several regional governments, including Guyana, Barbados, Jamaica, and Trinidad, offering processing and payment solutions designed and developed to reduce operational costs.
