The Climate-Resilient Water Sector in Grenada (G-CREWS) project continues to make strides in its efforts towards achieving a climate resilient water supply system.
The project recently received several containers with materials to construct 500,000 gallon storage tanks across the island.
We get more in this dispatch from NAWASA’s Communications Assistant Wendy Chasteau.
G-CREWS
Did she say “massive 500 gallon” tanks? …ooops, she mis-read her script… they hold much more water than that!
Nawasa has to take 50% of the blame while the government 30% and the forestry department 20%. These there entities should have collaborated and put together a solid plan to ensure three things:
1. The upgrading of dams and creation of new dams to collect more water.
2. Additional storage facilities in case of prolonged dry weather.
3. The planting of new trees anytime we are ravaged by storms or hurricanes plus educational programs to teach citizens how to preserve our natural heritage. The cutting of trees uselessly in the south for so called development has to be addressed by the government.
This should have been done more than a decade ago. Better late than never I suppose.
Do you really mean 500 gallon water tanks, or is that an error?
Great initiative re water storage and resource distribution. However, looking at the picture of that construction site, the question arises: does anyone recognizes the inherent safety hazard with the two construction workers standing right infront of that mini-bobcat; an accident waiting to happen.
Remember, safety is first priority and ANYONE can call a safety time-out when, in his or her opinion, the element of safety is about to or being compromised.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO let’s get this straight. Aferr 50 years of independence, and the wonder boy of NAWASA Husbands. Now they are constructing tanks???
And, what of the people who paying their bills every month for 50 years, and still have to fill up buckets.. eh..get real bro.
