The Royal Grenada Police Force Fire Department is currently responding to a fire at Quality Services Limited’s storeroom and is actively working to contain and suppress the blaze.
Motorists and pedestrians travelling in the vicinity of L’anse aux Épines, St George, are advised to proceed with extreme caution due to intense heat and the presence of potentially toxic smoke. Members of the public are strongly urged not to remain in or congregate near the affected area.
Residents in the nearby communities of Mt Hartman, Grand Anse Valley and Woburn are advised to exercise caution due to the risk of toxic smoke inhalation. People living in these areas, particularly individuals who suffer from respiratory conditions such as asthma or other breathing-related illnesses, are strongly encouraged to wear protective face masks or respirators where available to reduce exposure to smoke and airborne particles.
Residents are also advised to limit outdoor activities and keep windows and doors closed where possible.
The RGPF’s Fire Department continues to monitor the situation closely and is on site managing the emergency response.
