Position Summary:
The position will be responsible for shaping and executing Nawasa’s people strategy to drive business performance, workforce excellence, and a strong values-based culture. The Human Resources Manager partners closely with the senior leaders to ensure the organisation attracts, develops, rewards, and retains top talent.
Qualification and Experience:
- Applicants should have a Bachelors Degree (BSc) in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration or an equivalent qualification. Demonstrated experience working in a unionised environment a plus
- At least 5 years management experience in an HR related field. Demonstrated experience working in a unionised environment a plus
Industrial Relations and Legal Compliance
- Sound knowledge of labour legislation and HR governance frameworks applicable to statutory bodies in Grenada
- Proven competence in managing employee relations, collective bargaining processes, grievance handling, and disciplinary procedures
- Ability to draft, implement, and enforce HR policies and procedures consistent with relevant legislation and best practice in regulated utilities
Culture Building and Customer-Centricity
- Commitment to fostering a service-oriented organisational culture that recognises that every Nawasa employee ultimately serves the customer
- Ability to lead internal communication initiatives and staff engagement programmes to improve productivity and morale
- Experience in developing ethics policies and promoting transparency and accountability in public sector organisations
Human Resource Analytics
- Ability to design and manage advanced HR information systems and dashboards to guide strategic decisions
- Experience in manpower planning based on asset management needs, disaster preparedness, and operational risk management
- Competence in integrating HR metrics into Board submissions and executive decision-making
Health, Safety, and Utility-Specific Requirements
- Experience in promoting occupational health and safety programmes tailored to field technicians, plant operators, and other high-risk utility staff
- Experience in developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety initiatives that address the needs of non-technical and administrative employees, including ergonomic workplace practices, wellness programmes, psychosocial support, and general staff awareness training, thereby ensuring that a strong culture of Health and Safety is embedded across all levels and functions of the authority
Talent Management
- Expertise in leadership development for supervisors and managers within a technical utility environment
- Ability to create structured mentoring programmes for engineers, transmission and distribution staff, and operations teams
Stakeholder Management
- Ability to engage effectively with Government ministries, regulators, insurance providers, and regional partners on HR-related matters
- Experience in Board-level advisory roles and in presenting complex people-management issues to Directors
