Nawasa informs the public that on Monday, 9 February 2026, we will officially commence the long-awaited network upgrade from Mt Kumar through to Tempe in St George.
The works will affect the Mt Kumar – Snug Corner – La Mode – Hubbard’s and De Caul Service Centre – Tempe corridor. A comprehensive traffic management plan has been developed in collaboration with the Royal Grenada Police Force and the contractor to ensure the safe and orderly movement of both vehicular and pedestrian traffic during the scheduled road works.
This plan prioritises public safety, continued access to essential services, and minimal disruption during peak traffic periods. Traffic control measures will commence after the morning rush hour to help reduce congestion.
Depending on road width, terrain, and construction activity, traffic will be managed through a combination of one-way flow and stop-and-go operations. Contractor traffic wardens will be stationed at all active work zones, and traffic arrangements will be adjusted in real time based on traffic volume and prevailing safety conditions.
