The Grenada Technical and Allied Workers’ Union (GTAWU) and the St George’s University Limited (SGU) on Thursday, 12 February 2026, signed a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for the period 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2028.
The signing was done before Labour Commissioner Sparkle Grenade-Courtney. Signing on behalf of the Company were: Greg Hendel — Chief Campus Operations Officer and Senior Vice President, Dawne Buckmire — Vice President Business Administrator, Camila Williams-Johnson — Human Resources Director and Skeeta Chitan-Sylvester — Attorney-at-Law. Signing of behalf of the Union were: André Lewis — President General, Trevor Xavier — Chief Grievance Officer, Kevon Noel — Shop Steward, Ron Greaves — Workers’ Representative, Kadisha Andrew — Industrial Relations Officer and Gleaner Lewis — Shop Steward.
The agreement saw amendments which include:
- Starting salaries to a level no less than 20% above the Grenada National Minimum Wage Order
- Salary increases of
- 4% for 2022/2023
- 4% for 2023/2024
- 4% for 2024/2025
- 4% for 2025/2026
- 5% for 2026/2027
- 5% for 2027/2028
- Increases on Night Differential Allowance; payment of Drivers’ License Fee
The CBA also covers benefits such as health insurance, uniforms and protective clothing, pension and grievance procedure.
The union and SGU will continue their engagement in seeking to resolve the long-standing matter of payment for the years of service to the SGU “Unvaccinated Workers,” who were not allowed to enter the company’s premises to perform their work since June 2021.
