The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands and Forestry advises the public of the Closed Hunting Season for wildlife/game species that will take effect from 1 January 2026 to 30 September 2026 until further notice.
Individuals are urged to refrain from hunting wildlife species, in particular Tatou, Manicou, Ramier, Iguana and the Mona Monkey, in the closed season. Persons who commit an offence in this matter may be fined $1000 or a term of 6 months imprisonment.
