GFA launches Player Identification drive for Talent Development Scheme

The Grenada Football Association (GFA) will commence a nationwide Player Identification initiative as a core component of its established Talent Development Scheme (TDS).

This essential programme is designed to systematically scout, identify, and incorporate the most promising male youth players from Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique to ensure the continuous development of future youth national teams.

The immediate focus of the identification drive is aimed at aspiring young athletes — specifically boys born in the years 2012 and 2013.

The primary objectives of this rigorous evaluation phase are clear: to identify and evaluate emerging talent and to facilitate high-quality youth player development. Successful participants will be integrated directly into the GFA TDS programme, creating definitive and structured pathways. These pathways are crucial for eventual selection into youth national teams, and for generating opportunities for future educational scholarships and professional football careers.

A GFA spokesperson affirmed the importance of the initiative, stating, “This systematic identification drive represents a key investment in the future of Grenadian football. By prioritising the earliest stages of talent recognition and providing structured development within the TDS framework, we are building a robust and sustainable pipeline of players equipped to succeed on the regional and international stage.”

The GFA encourages parents, guardians, and youth coaches to ensure eligible players are prepared to participate in the upcoming scouting events across the tri-island state. Further details regarding specific screening dates and locations will be communicated shortly through official GFA channels.
